Apple has started selling two new Pride Edition Watch bands worldwide, celebrating the companies support of the LGBTQ community. The release coincides with the watchOS 6.2.5 update to compatible Apple Watches that reportedly brings new Pride Watch faces to sport with or without the new bands.
On its website, Apple says, “Apple is proud to support LGBTQ advocacy organisations working to bring about positive change, including Encircle, Gender Spectrum, GLSEN, PFLAG, SMYAL, the National Center for Transgender Equality and The Trevor Project in the US; and ILGA World internationally.”
The Pride Edition Sport Band has a rainbow pattern on the strap while the Pride Edition Nike Sport Band is white with subtle Pride colours in the perforated holes on the strap. Both are available now from Apple for £49/$49 each.
Apple appears to have discontinued its 2019 Pride Edition Sport Loop band. watchOS 6.2.5 also includes ECG support for Saudi Arabia and some bug fixes.
